Hi, I’m Peter.

I've been a teacher of many subjects for well over 3 decades. Professor Barry Hymer who keeps beating me at chess says I'm a life long learner.

 For the last 8 years, I've focused on coaching year 12 and 13 students to help them win offers for Oxford and Cambridge ( 106 so far!!).  

​

I taught bio-ethics at Masters degree level in Ireland, and I use that knowledge base to help students applying for Medicine to do well on UCAT and at MMI. 

​

In the last 3 years, I've taken on a few challenges at the limit of my powers.  A term of English Literature at A level was much easier than a term of year 7 maths for just 11 students suffering the after-effects of lockdown! 

​

My favourite subject is Biology, but I have been pushed into teaching Economics and Business Studies fairly regularly. 

​

My perfect tutoring day would be 1 hour unseen poetry, 1 hour Biology, 1 hour study skills and 2 hours chess.

 You might notice the dismal science( Economics) didn't make the cut!
