My Story
Hi, I’m David!
I’m a Maths and Science tutor who enjoys helping young people make sense of challenging topics and discover what they’re capable of. Before moving to the UK, I worked as a private tutor in South Korea, supporting students from primary school through to high school. I enjoy breaking difficult concepts down into clear, manageable steps and helping students experience that satisfying moment when something finally clicks.
Through my tutoring and wider experience working with children, people living with dementia and individuals with physical disabilities, I’ve learned the importance of adapting how I communicate. Everyone learns differently, and I take time to understand each student’s needs, explain ideas clearly and find an approach that works for them. These experiences have also developed my interest in supporting learners with special educational needs.
My approach is patient, friendly and encouraging. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, trying things out and making mistakes as part of learning. A relaxed, positive environment can make a real difference to a young person’s willingness to have a go, particularly if they’ve found learning difficult in the past.
Above all, I want students to leave our sessions feeling more confident in both the subject and themselves. My aim is to help them build understanding, develop independence and feel proud of their progress.
