Hi I'm Neil,

I am an experienced, enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics teacher and tutor with
over 29 years of experience in secondary education and one-to-one tuition. I have a
genuine passion for helping learners develop their mathematical ability, build
confidence and achieve their full potential.

Known for my patient, encouraging and supportive approach, I take pride in making
mathematics accessible, engaging and enjoyable. I understand that every learner is
different, and I believe that building confidence is just as important as developing
mathematical knowledge and skills.

I cover all areas of the mathematics curriculum, from primary-level numeracy through
to Grade 9 GCSE Mathematics, as well as Level 3 Functional Skills Numeracy. The latter
can be particularly valuable for learners undertaking equivalency qualifications for
entry onto degree-level courses.

As a Senior Associate Examiner for a GCSE examination board, I bring valuable insight
into examination requirements, assessment criteria and effective revision techniques.
This enables me to help students develop the knowledge, accuracy, speed and exam
strategies needed to maximise their performance.

I have also worked as a Numeracy Co-ordinator, leading the development of numeracy
across the curriculum. My motto was "Numeracy is Everywhere!" because strong
numeracy skills underpin success in so many areas of learning and everyday life.
Alongside my teaching experience, I have held extensive pastoral responsibilities,
including form tutor roles, supporting young people both academically and personally
throughout their educational journey.

Every learner deserves an approach that works for them. My sessions are therefore
carefully tailored to individual abilities, learning styles, strengths and areas for
development.

One-to-one tuition is an investment in confidence, understanding and achievement.
The ability to approach Mathematics with greater accuracy, speed and self-belief is
invaluable.
