My Story
Hi, I’m Rebecca!
I’m an experienced teacher and tutor with 30 years of experience across primary, secondary and specialist school settings. I’ve taught whole classes, supported small groups and worked individually with pupils, helping children develop their skills, rebuild confidence and discover what they can achieve.
Alongside my classroom teaching, I established my own tutoring business, supporting children with English and Maths and preparing pupils for the Kent Test, an 11-plus entrance assessment. I particularly enjoy helping learners strengthen their foundations and experience the satisfaction of understanding something they previously found difficult.
I have extensive experience working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. My approach is calm, patient and flexible, taking time to build trust and understand each child’s strengths, interests and needs. I plan lessons around the individual, adapting activities and explanations as their understanding and confidence develop.
With a background in Fine Art, I also bring creativity to my teaching. I enjoy finding different ways to explain ideas and approach problems, making learning engaging and giving pupils opportunities to discover what works for them.
I’m warm and approachable, and I value working closely with families to support each child. Above all, I want my pupils to feel understood, recognise their own progress and grow in confidence as learners and as individuals.
