My Story
I am an experienced and qualified teacher joining the Lytham Tutors team. I left the
classroom nearly five years ago, to focus on children and young people who need tailored
support to raise their attainment. I started Mrs Snowball’s Tuition, privately tutoring children
after school. Covering KS1, KS2 and KS3 subjects, including 11+ coaching, and providing
SEND, gifted and talented, and SEMH support.
During the day, I work with agencies and local authorities to tutor children and young people,
who (for many reasons) are not in school. I deliver trauma-informed, targeted provision in
alternative settings. Where possible, the aim is to reintegrate children back into school or
support their transition into an appropriate educational setting.
Children and young people are at the centre of all I do, any conversation I have or decision I
make. They bring out the best in me; my strengths. I listen, learn, care, protect, nurture and
teach. I help them find their voice, build confidence and the ability to celebrate their
achievements.
I tailor teaching and learning to suit each young person and remain flexible on how they may
present each day. I like to use a mixture of paper, I-pad, games, resources, and practical
activities, indoor and out, with breaks. Engaged, happy children and young people are ready
to learn. I am equally open to online tuition. I am warm, friendly and humorous.
I am a Mum to three grown up children, and now a Granny to little people. In my own time, I
enjoy wild swimming with friends, a community group, book club, an interest in art, textiles
and being generally creative.
