My Story

Hello. I’m Chris
 
I have worked in education now since 2010, qualifying as a teacher in 2011.
 
I have an undergraduate degree in music and religious studies and a PGCE in Secondary
education with QTS.

Having worked in education in various sectors for the past 14 years, I have had the privilege of
guiding thousands of students through their exams.
I have taught humanities in a variety of settings including a local Grammar school. I have
prepared candidates for GCSE’s in Geography, History and Religious Studies as well as A levels
in History, Religious Studies and Philosophy. I have prepared candidates for scholarship exams
including the prestigious scholarship exam for Eton College.
My specialisms in History and Religious Studies relate primarily to the development of
Christian Doctrine and the impact it had upon both Great Britain and Europe during the period
1200-1700.

The Elizabethan Religious Settlement

Religion and Society in 20 th Century Wales, particularly the Welsh revival of 1904 and the
Disestablishment of the Church in Wales
Military Tactics
The rise and fall of the Third Reich
Research interests in Religious Studies and Theology:
New Testament Studies (particularly the Gospel of John and Feministic Biblical interpretation)
The Theology and Philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas
The Theology of John Cardinal Henry Newman
The Theology of Karl Barth
Research interests in Philosophy:
The Philosophy of St. Thomas Aquinas
Logical Positivism
Existentialist Philosophy (Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, Otto)
