My Story

I am a qualified Secondary Mathematics teacher with a First-Class degree in Mathematics with QTS from Edge Hill University. I began my teaching career at LSA High School, where I spent five years nurturing a passion for helping students succeed in maths through engaging, supportive, and student-focused teaching.

Since 2024, I have worked full-time with Lytham Tutors, delivering one-to-one tuition to a diverse range of learners, including students in Alternative Provision who are currently outside mainstream education. This role has been particularly rewarding, allowing me to build meaningful, individualised relationships and make a tangible impact on each student's academic journey.

My key strengths when working with Alternative Provision students are adaptability, approachability, and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships - especially with learners who have complex needs or have had difficult experiences in education or at home. I believe that creating a safe, respectful space where students feel valued and understood is essential for meaningful engagement and progress.

In addition to tutoring, I serve as a Deputy Safeguarding Lead and will be completing Youth Mental Health First Aid training with the PMHW Fylde and Wyre Team in the coming year, further deepening my understanding of student wellbeing.

I have also been closely involved in establishing the Alternative Provision service at Lytham Tutors. This has included developing and reviewing key policies, liaising with schools and external partners, and ensuring our lesson records are accurate and up to date for regular reviews. It’s been a steep but fulfilling learning curve, and I’ve enjoyed contributing to the development of a service that makes a real difference.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about nature and the underwater world - I keep a 1000-litre fish tank at home and love snorkelling whenever I get the chance. I also enjoy watching anime and playing computer games in my spare time.
