My Story

Hi, I'm Hayley!

I am a qualified teacher with a BA (Hons) in English Literature and Creative Writing and over 16 years of experience teaching in schools and through one-to-one tuition. Throughout my career, I have supported pupils of all abilities to make excellent progress, helping them develop both their academic skills and their confidence as learners.

I am passionate about making learning engaging, enjoyable and accessible for every child. My teaching approach focuses on breaking learning down into manageable steps, providing clear guidance and building confidence through regular practice and encouragement. This helps pupils make strong progress while developing skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.

As an English specialist, I particularly enjoy teaching essay writing, literature and creative writing. I love helping pupils develop their analytical skills and discovering ways to make Shakespeare, poetry and challenging texts enjoyable and accessible.

​

I also have extensive experience supporting learners with SEND, including those with EHCPs and IEPs. I believe every child can succeed when given the right support, and I tailor my lessons to meet the individual needs, strengths and goals of each learner.

Above all, I aim to create a positive and supportive learning environment where pupils feel comfortable, motivated and confident in their abilities. Watching young people grow in confidence and achieve things they once thought were out of reach is the most rewarding part of my job.
