My Story
I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. From a young age, I loved helping others learn and improve, which first showed through my involvement in competitive acrobatic gymnastics. I was proud to become a British Champion, and even then, I found real joy in supporting and encouraging others at the gym. This naturally led me into coaching and becoming a competition judge, experiences that inspired me to pursue teaching at university.
Since qualifying, I have taught in over a dozen schools across the Fylde Coast through supply work and longer-term teaching roles, gaining a wide range of experience with different age groups, abilities and learning styles. More recently, I spent eight years teaching at a prestigious prep school in central London, where I was part of the Senior Leadership Team and led a school expansion project. I have now relocated back to the Fylde Coast and am excited to support local pupils and families.
I specialise in teaching phonics and am well-versed in the science of reading, as well as all areas of the primary curriculum. I have extensive experience tutoring pupils who are preparing for 7+ and 11+ entrance exams, as well as supporting children with SATs preparation. I tailor my approach to each child’s needs, ensuring they build strong foundations and confidence in their learning.
My teaching style is warm, approachable and encouraging. I truly believe that every child can make progress when given the right environment, guidance and support. I value a consistent approach to learning, where barriers are minimised, and children feel confident to try, make mistakes and grow.
I also believe pupils learn best when they feel happy, comfortable and have a strong rapport with their teacher. Building positive relationships is at the heart of my teaching, and I aim to create a calm, supportive space where children feel motivated, understood and proud of their achievements.
