My Story

I bring 38 years of experience in Secondary Education, including extensive leadership as a Subject Leader and member of a Senior Leadership team. Throughout my career, I have championed student welfare as central to effective teaching and learning, ensuring that every learner feels supported and valued.

In addition to my school-based leadership roles, I have undertaken consultancy work for Lancashire County Council, where I supported schools in developing best practice at the departmental level.

I hold a Master's degree in Education Management, which has developed my ability to lead teams, manage change and make strategic decisions that improve educational outcomes.

As Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, I work closely with the DSL to make sure all staff and tutors are confident in recognising and responding to safeguarding concerns. I am dedicated to fostering a safe, inclusive learning environment and maintaining strong communication with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure that concerns are addressed swiftly and appropriately.

Outside of work, I am an avid fitness enthusiast with a strong competitive background in Athletics and Netball. My long-term commitment to sport has honed my skills in leadership, resilience and teamwork, qualities that directly influence my professional practice.  Whether mentoring colleagues, supporting students or navigating complex educational situations, I draw on the discipline and strategic thinking developed through many years of competitive sport. I bring these to my professional practice every day, to ensure that I make meaningful contributions to the safety, well-being and success of every young person.
