My Story

Hi, I'm Lisa!

​

I am an experienced and enthusiastic teacher with over 27 years of experience across both primary and secondary education. Throughout my career, I have taught learners aged 3 to 18 in state and independent school settings, giving me a broad understanding of how young people learn and develop throughout their educational journey.

I am passionate about helping every learner achieve their potential and take pride in creating positive, supportive learning environments where students feel valued, encouraged and confident. My experience spans a wide range of subjects, and I am confident supporting students with both Maths and English up to GCSE level. I can help learners strengthen their core knowledge, address gaps in understanding, develop effective exam techniques and approach their GCSEs with greater confidence.

I am skilled at adapting lessons to suit different learning styles, abilities and individual needs. Whether a student requires additional support, greater challenge or simply a different approach, I enjoy finding strategies that help them engage with their learning and make meaningful progress.

As a linguist, I have a particular interest in modern foreign languages and communication, alongside a strong appreciation of the reading, writing and analytical skills required for English. I am equally passionate about building learners’ confidence with mathematical concepts and helping them develop the problem-solving skills needed to succeed. Alongside my classroom teaching, I have held extensive pastoral responsibilities, including form tutor roles, supporting young people both academically and personally throughout their education.

I am known for my friendly, approachable and adaptable nature, and I work hard to build strong relationships with learners and their families. I believe education is about far more than academic achievement alone; it is about helping young people develop the confidence, skills and mindset they need to thrive both in school and beyond.
