Hi from Ray!

My approach to teaching is to try and put the subject into a practical or realistic setting to make it
more understandable. As an enthusiast in lifelong learning, finding out at an early age how you
can study will help in the future.

Following an engineering apprenticeship, I gained a BSc in engineering and an M.A. in
Vocational Education whilst continuing to work.

Having moved into teaching from industry, mostly I have taught engineering maths and science
subjects at post sixteen further education colleges. In the northwest region I have worked at
Stockport College of Technology, Blackpool & the Fylde College and Preston College.
More recently I have been teaching Functional Skills online to apprentices for various UK
companies.

Previously, for three years, I had been teaching English online to Chinese nationals of school age.
Whilst working in the UAE for 16 years required some English teaching along with engineering
and maths subjects.

I also currently work as a Moderator for OCR on their Cambridge Nationals in Engineering, taken
by 15 year olds in schools.

I hope to bring some of my experience to help you achieve your study goals and look forward to
meeting you.
