My Story
Hi, I'm Sheryl!
My career has taken me across Europe and Asia, teaching English to children, teenagers and adults from a wide variety of cultural and educational backgrounds. From classrooms in Italy, China and Thailand to online tuition and UK summer schools, I have spent many years helping learners develop confidence in their communication skills and achieve their academic goals.
One of the things I enjoy most about teaching is seeing learners grow in confidence. Whether preparing students for English examinations, supporting reluctant learners or helping international students settle into new environments, I believe that strong relationships and engaging lessons are the foundation of success.
Alongside my teaching experience, I have held a number of safeguarding, welfare and leadership roles, including Welfare Manager and Safeguarding Coordinator positions within large international summer school programmes. These roles involved supporting the well-being of young people, leading staff teams and ensuring students felt safe, supported and able to thrive.
Before specialising in English teaching, I also worked as a lecturer in visual communication and graphic design, bringing a creative perspective to my teaching style. I enjoy finding innovative ways to explain concepts, encourage curiosity and make learning enjoyable.
Outside of teaching, I love travelling, hiking, camping and creative activities such as drawing, pottery and crafts. I bring that same sense of enthusiasm and curiosity into my lessons, helping learners develop not only their skills but also their confidence and enjoyment of learning.
